Looking to add a touch of elegance to your home décor without breaking the bank? Look no further than your local dollar store! I recently stumbled upon these adorable mirror coasters at the Dollar Store and couldn’t resist personalizing them. In this tutorial, I’ll walk you through the simple steps to create your own customized mirror coasters.

Here are the steps I used

Step 1

Before you start decorating, it’s essential to thoroughly clean the mirror coaster’s surface. Use rubbing alcohol to remove any dirt or residue, ensuring that the surface is clean and dry before proceeding to the next step.

Step 2

Get creative with your design! For my coasters, I decided to add a touch of inspiration by choosing three different words: “Joy,” “Hope,” and “Peace.” Select a font that complements the style of your coasters. I opted for a delicate, swirled font called “Winter Wonderland” to match the elegant feel of the mirror coasters.

Step 3

Using a Silhouette cutting machine or by hand, cut out the vinyl lettering for your chosen words. Carefully place the lettering on the center of each mirror coaster, ensuring that it is straight and evenly spaced.

Step 4

Now, it’s time to add the etched effect to your mirror coasters. Apply a generous amount of Etchall® Creme over the vinyl lettering, making sure to cover the entire surface evenly. The color of the etchall® Creme may vary, but it will still produce the desired effect.

Allow the etchall® Creme to sit on the mirror coaster for approximately 15 minutes. During this time, the creme will work its magic, creating a beautifully etched design beneath the vinyl lettering.

Step 5

After 15 minutes, carefully remove the vinyl lettering from the mirror coaster. Rinse the coaster under running water in a non-porcelain sink to remove any excess etchall® Creme and vinyl residue. Use your fingers to gently rub off any remaining creme, revealing the elegant etched design beneath.

Step 6

Once the excess creme and vinyl have been removed, use paper towels to dry the mirror coaster thoroughly. Now, marvel at your handiwork! You’ve created a set of personalized mirror coasters that are not only perfect for holiday gatherings but also add a touch of sophistication to your home décor year-round.

Transforming ordinary mirror coasters into personalized works of art has never been easier! With just a few simple steps and minimal materials, you can elevate your home décor with these DIY etched mirror coasters. Whether you’re looking for a unique gift idea or simply want to add a touch of elegance to your own space, this project is sure to impress. Give it a try, and watch as your guests admire your newfound crafting skills!
